Caleb Does Thunderheist w/ L.A.X.

Show Notes :
When we aren’t editing or goiter deep in Soul Calibur IV tournaments around the CalebDoes work mill, the gang likes to put on our dapper finery, go downtown, and take in a damn fine show. The talented event and promo people at Turn2Live and the ever popular Knucklerumbler gang hosted L.A.X. and headliners Thunderheist at Emo’s despite thunderstorms and the wetness thereof. Along with the bands we talked to blogger Vanessa Gonzalez from sailorlegs.com (and @sailorlegs) and witnessed as the crowd got downright sweaty dancing the night away. I guess wetness prevailed after all. Enjoy!

Also, we’ll be updating this post shortly with video of some individual songs from that night, for those of you just wanna kick it to the music.

UPDATE:

Okay, as promised:
L.A.X. performing “The Message”
Thunderheist’s first song (anyone know the title?)
And Thunderheist performing “Space Cowboy”

Caleb Does Pop Your Cherry

Show Notes :
The summer may be coming to a close but the parties are still as hot as ever! The lovely Miss Gina Chung of Flip Scene asked us to come out and enjoy the amenities of “Pop Your Cherry”, the Austin launch of CherryPeel.com. Join your precocious host Caleb as he mingles with party goers, plays lawn games, drinks heavily, interviews some of Austin’s blogging superstars, and drinks heavily. Can you count how many times Caleb says the words “Cherry Peel” “American Legion Hall” “Austin” and “party”? Enjoy this particularly slippery (and funnily named) edition of Caleb Does where the party isn’t over until the guy behind the camera says it is.

Raspberry Criminal

Show Notes :
[Editor's note: Caleb was roused from sleep this afternoon to write these show notes]
Saturdays are our favorite days here around the CalebDoes.com sweatshop. It’s the time of week that we get to uncork our aggression, have a drink (or a brownie) and go party! This Saturday was the mega blow-out known as Raspberry Criminal thrown by our pals over at Knuckle Rumbler. These kids have been throwing some great parties for a while now with rave review and “Criminal” followed suit. Prince Klassen and Orion DJ’d superbly, drunken homos got a little feisty, Michael Jackson was fondly remembered through song and I honored Prince by working up a black sweat. Thanks to Scoot Inn and it’s bartenders for dealing with some serious ridiculousness. Enjoy!

P.S.: Our sincerest apologies to Richard from Ultra8201. We got a fantastic interview with him, but Emmett decided in a pitiless, draconian manner, that the lighting was too bad and it was unusable. Be sure to check out his blog for all the latest music news. Two hyperlinks is enough to make up for our mistake, right? Well, if not, here’s a third!

Austin Fashion Awards part 2: The After Party

Show Notes :
The after party: interviews with some winners and nominees, The Soldier Thread and The Octopus Project. This was our first episode shot in HD, expect more of that in the future : )
We had an issue with the data on the card (working the kinks out with the new camera), and lost a couple of interviews, so apologies if Caleb talked to you and you don’t see yourself on here.

To you videophiles out there, this was shot on a panasonic hmc150, and previous episodes were shot on a panasonic dvx100.

Austin Fashion Awards Part 1

Show Notes :
Man oh man, our first red carpet experience, and it was right here in Austin. We got to go shoot at the Austin Fashion Awards because our wonderful sponsor Do512 has the hook-up with Launch787, who planned the event and organized fashion week. This was just ridiculously fun to shoot at. It was a little bizarre having people actually come up and bring us celebrities to talk to rather than our usual guerilla-style of just running around sticking the mic in people’s faces, but we aren’t complaining! We’ll be posting part 2 in a few short days, which will have interviews with some of the winners at the after party, and was shot on our new HD camera. Follow @calebdoes, @emmovidart, or @do512_kristin to get the word when it’s posted.
